Produced by SECLA (Sociedade de Exportação e Cerâmica, S.A.), founded in 1947 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, the plate reflects the region’s rich ceramic heritage. Caldas da Rainha has long been one of Portugal’s most important pottery centers, and SECLA became especially well known in the mid-20th century for its expressive, richly glazed earthenware created for both the domestic market and export abroad.
Echoing the form of a cabbage leaf, its dimensional veining is brought to life beneath a glossy yellow glaze—a sunny variation on the classic green cabbage ware so beloved by collectors.
